When is a Rescheck Required?

When is a Rescheck Required

A Rescheck report is usually necessary, in two situations;

Local Code Compliance

Many states and cities follow the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) which establishes energy efficiency standards for construction. If your area has adopted the IECC a Rescheck report will likely be needed to show that your building project meets these standards and to acquire a building permit. Contact your building department to verify if the IECC regulations are in effect in your region.

Building Department Requirement

Even if there isn't a mandate for a Rescheck the building department may ask for one, at their discretion. This is more probable if your project involves building methods or materials that differ from the norm in your area.

In summary, it's advisable to consult with your building department to confirm whether a Rescheck report is required for your project.
